
About Lake Zurich:
Lake Zurich is a northern IL neighborhood and is located about 37 miles northwest of downtown Chicago in Lake County Illinois. Its population is over 19,000 with over 5,900 homes in Lake Zurich. The town of Lake Zurich is 6.8 square miles and has a lake called Lake Zurich. In 2006 Frommers named Lake Zurich as one of the top 100 “Best Places to raise your Family” and also voted by U.S. News as one of the “Top 25 Affordable Places to live in the US”. Lake Zurich’s adjoining towns are Deer Park, Barrington, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer and Wauconda.
A Little History on Lake Zurich:
Lake Zurich has been home to many people since the early-mid 1800’s. Europeans first settled in the area in the 1830s. New England farmers moved to Lake Zurich in the 1830’s and 1840’s and German Immigrants moved in the area in the 1850’s. Also, Lake Zurich has been a convenient Summer Resort Area for many years with the lakes and town. Homes in Lake Zurich started to be developed in the 1950’s so population grew from there.


Lake Zurich Shopping:
There is plenty of shopping in Lake Zurich, from the village shops in the small downtown area and many strip malls throughout the town.




The village is redeveloping the downtown area, it is quaint with a Swiss feeling. The waterfront is beautiful with a new promenade, boat docks a great park Poulos Park with a beach and playground.
Lake Zurich Schools:
Lake Zurich Public Schools are district 95, with one high school and two middle schools and six elementary schools. The private are St. Francis de Sales (Catholic), St Matthew (Lutheran) and Quentin Road Christian School.
