About Chicago River West
Chicago River West is located one mile northwest of the Chicago Loop.
The boundaries are the Industrial Corridor to the north, the Chicago river north branch to the east, Grand Avenue to the south and the Kennedy Expressway 90/94 to the west.
Neighborhoods surrounding River West are River North, the West Loop, Noble Square and the Fulton River District.
Chicago River West is a somewhat newer neighborhood. Borders of neighborhoods have changed and are interpreted differently by multiple sources.
River West at one time was considered part of River North but now it is it's own neighborhood. River West attracts buyers who prefer a little quieter area without moving too far from downtown. Most of River West real estate is mid & high-rise condos, converted trendy lofts from factories and warehouses, new & newer construction town homes and 2-4-flats. River West has remnants of its industrial days,but the addition of contemporary designs and modern rehabbed buildings produces a clean and innovative style that is appealing to Chicago buyers and visitors of all walks of life.
River West used to be an old warehouse district which has converted over time the warehouses and factories into Trendy Chicago loft spaces and condos. The norm being high end designs and amenities which are considered prime real estate today in Chicago's housing market. Popular restaurants, bars and shopping have also been added which are frequented by residents and people from out of the area who desire a cool place to hang out and spend a day or evening.
